About this Workshop:

“[North Coast instructors], Rachel and Doug set up such a fun and supportive class, yet kept the rules tight and called us on our missteps.  It was such a thrill; I had trouble winding down afterwards.  Also, it was surreal to watch most of us (me included) go from shaking in our boots in hour one…to confidently enjoying rapping.  You two have a gift!” – Rachel Williams

This introductory musical improv workshop introduces you to the basics of Hip Hop Improv: the combination of free-style rapping and scene work. North Coast instructor, Douglas Widick, will guide you through the basics of free-styling which, instead of forcing the rhyme, is all about gaining access to the rhymes that have been in your catalogue since you were a kid. Learn how to set yourself up, find your flow, and weave your rapped verses into your improv scene work!

*NOTE: In celebration of DCM, we’d like to offer a workshop to anyone who’ll be around that weekend. This workshop is NOT in any way affiliated officially with DCM. If you’d like to take a DCM workshop (and you should!) check out the info here
